Intel Just Says No to Capella University

. . . and other for-profit "schools!"

In yet another stunning article just released (January 29, 2007), the Chronicle of Higher Education has reported that "Intel Cuts 100 Colleges From Its Tuition-Reimbursement Program for Employees" noting:

"Intel instituted the new policy after finding that employees were attending institutions 'that were not of the highest value to the company,' and that many employees left the company after completing their educations because their new degrees did not improve their prospects at Intel."

The article then states that:

"In addition to the University of Phoenix, Capella University, Chicago State University, and Xavier University of Louisiana are among the institutions that will no longer be options for Intel employees who want their tuition reimbursed by the company."

Gosh, why aren't we surprised? After all, we've long noted how Capella University hires and retains charlatans, like Diane Stottlemyer, who have purchased their bogus "graduate degrees" from diploma mills and ignores valid student complaints. It looks like the actions Capella University and other "universities" of their ilk, along the performance of their graduates is finally starting to catch up with them. As we've long warned - Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware)!
